11 Months Old Today!

Cora is eleven months old today and as a treat we went to the Science Museum Playground (OMSI) for music time. This playground is a gigantic indoor child's paradise complete with areas for building, exploring nature, crafts, 'sandland', puppets and books. There was even an infant's area with a pool of balls to play in. Cora wanted to explore the whole second floor and even wandered into the nursing room complete with two gliders and a play area. How come we did not find this place earlier!! It's about five minutes from our house.

At 10:30am four staff members from other areas of the Museum came together to play guitars, banjos, trumpets, a turkey baster with water and other instruments. Cora loved watching, dancing and clapping with all the children to old favorites like Old McDonald. It was very busy today, as children and parents were off for Veteran's Day.

Cora was there with her friend Ziza. They were chatting away and it appears as though Cora has added the word 'fish' to her growing list of words. There was a fish tank in the wall and Cora kept pointing and saying fish. I wish I had taken my camera.

Cora has come a long way from the early days of babbles. She started with Mama and Dada (Da and Daddy) then came baby, doggie, ka (cat), up and bye-bye and most recently she responds to anything dropping with an enthusiastic uh-oh! I think she has said something that sounds like duck and all done ... but it's hard to be sure...

It is amazing how quickly they learn and grow. Uncle Francis was here this weekend and taught Cora a new game. We were at the new French bakery that is about ten blocks from our house.

Enjoy!

Addendum: Cora clearly asked for her duck tonight while taking a bath :-) Both Mom and Dad were there to hear her.
